Jack DePriest, MD

Dr. DePriest came to Charleston by way of Johnstown Pennsylvania in June of 2009. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University and his M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at George Washington University Hospital and his fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He received his Masters of Academic Medicine in 2010 from the University of Southern California.

Dr. DePriest has been involved with graduate medical education for over 20 years. He is an Associate Professor in the Charleston Division of the West Virginia University School of Medicine. His research interests include end-of-life decision-making and his educational interests focus on clinical decision-making, having presented workshops at 2 national conferences. His hobbies include live music and biking.  He and his wife Mary enjoy living on the East End where they live within walking distance of much of what Charleston has to offer.
