Internal Medicine Observership Program

Our program is pleased to provide opportunities for those wanting to observe physician and resident practice in a US Graduate Medical Education system. The goal of our Observership Program is to expose potential residents to our healthcare environment, allowing them to gain experience.

Observerships are available in two-week blocks starting in September and ending in February. We try not to schedule observerships during the December holidays.

Candidates for observerships must meet these few requirements:
•             No more than 5 years out of medical school
•             Above 200 on USMLE Step I and Step II

Applications are accepted from January to July for the upcoming year. We request that you email the latest copy of your CV, including relevant scores, and Immunization Records.

Those accepted for an observership rotate with a Medicine Service team at CAMC’s General Hospital where they can display clinical and academic skills to the team within a structured curriculum. Observers are strongly encouraged to attend didactic sessions and morning report.
