Post Graduate Year 2 (PGY2) – Geriatric Pharmacy

The Charleston Area Medical Center/West Virginia University Pharmacy Residency in Geriatrics consists of 12 months training and experience in the provision of pharmacotherapy to older adults.
The purpose of our program is to prepare pharmacists to become competent clinicians or clinical faculty who serve the needs of older adults in a variety of health care settings with particular strengths in ambulatory and acute care. One of the program’s strengths is the integrated involvement of the West Virginia University’s School of Pharmacy and Charleston Division which provide additional support and opportunities in practice, teaching, and scholarship.

Incentives
  • Stipend $40,000 to $45,000 annually
  • Financial support to attend ASHP Midyear, Eastern States Residency Conference, and American Geriatrics Society Annual Meeting

    • 2 weeks vacation
    • 12 sick days
    • 7 Education/Professional days (may be used as flex days*)
*Flex days – resident may take these days off service to work on projects and presentations
